4-Wire Resistive Touch Screen
4-Wire resistive touch screen is the preferred solution for low cost applications. It consists of a conductive bottom layer (ITO Glass or Film) and a conductive top layer (ITO Film). The two layers are suspended by many very small spacer dots.


Working Principle&Highlight:
4-Wire Resistive Touch Screens has two-layer structure,i.e. the top layer,ITO film and the bottom layer,ITO glass or film .They are use PET film and ITO glass as substrate material respectively,and then the ITO(Indium Tin Oxide)is coated on the film and glass surface. The non-conductive surface of the film is treated with hard coating to prevent scratch. The ITO film and ITO glass are separated by printed very small transparent insulation spacers (<1/1000 inch ).When operating , each conductive layer is given uniformly a voltage by controller:usually X direction is on the ITO film,Y direction on the ITO glass or film. When screen is touched,both conductive layers of the top film and bottom glass make an electrical contact. The controller will get the X and Y coordination by calculating the voltage of the touching point. 5-Wire Resistive Touch Screen 

Working Principle&Highlight:

5-Wire Resistive Touch Screen has the same structure as 4-Wire Resistive Touch Screen:top layer,ITO film and bottom layer ITO film/glass. The bottom layer measures both X and Y coordinates and the top layer applies only voltage. When screen is touched,both conductive layers of the top film and bottom glass make an electrical contact. The controller will get the X and Y coordination by calculating the voltage of the touching point. Since the top layer only plays common sensor,the touch screen will be still working even the top film is damaged or scratched so the 5-Wire touch screen has longer life expectancy than 4-Wire touch screen.  Superior durability and reliability with touch life over 35 million times. Input flexibility –finger (with/without glove), stylus, pen, credit card.

8-Wire resistive touch screen

Working Principle&Highlight:
8-Wire resistive touch screen is the preferred solution for applications requiring accuracy and no re-calibration over time. It is designed based on the 4-wire resistive technology with each edge providing one more sensing line as a stable voltage gradient for the touch screen controller. The functionality of additional 4 lines is to obtain the actual voltage generated by the drive voltage, so the touch screen controller can automatically correct the drift issue resulted from the harsh environment exposure or long time usage.Automatically correct the drift issue and avoid the requirement for touch screen re-calibration. Input flexibility –finger (with/without glove), stylus, pen, credit card.

Working Principle
The operational principle of the projected capacitive touch panel: There are two layers of the ITO layer under the surface of glass. This ITO layer respectively forms the electric field of X axis and Y axis, which can keep balance by crossing the surface of the class. Once the fingers approach the glass surface, the fingers and the electrode X axis or Y axis will form a new electric field, which can make the local capacitance change. Then the controller will determine the location based on capacitance changes.

Projected capacitive  are commonly used for smaller screen  sizes , PC、Mobile phone、hand-held instrument 、E-book、GPS、information terminal、writing pad、game machine etc.
